About the Role

This role is a critical component of the First Line of Defense and is responsible for supporting the effective identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of operational and non-financial risks across a diverse portfolio of corporate and investment banking products and services.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution and ongoing enhancement of the product risk management framework across wholesale lending, investment banking, and transaction banking businesses.
- Partner with product teams and control partners to identify, assess, document, and monitor key operational risks throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive risk documentation, including process maps, risk and control inventories, assessments, procedures, and governance materials.
- Utilize reporting tools, dashboards, and data analytics to produce meaningful risk insights, monitor trends, and provide timely reporting to business leaders and senior management.
- Support risk assessment activities, including Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), issue management, and control testing initiatives.
- Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs), control metrics, and emerging risk trends to identify potential areas of concern and recommend appropriate actions.
- Build subject matter expertise across covered banking products to better understand associated risk exposures and support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Compliance, Legal, Operational Risk, Audit, Technology, and Operations teams, to strengthen the overall control environment.
- Support management presentations and governance forums through the preparation of risk reporting, analysis, and executive-level materials.
- Participate in regulatory, audit, and internal review activities by providing risk documentation, analysis, and stakeholder coordination.
- Contribute to strategic risk and control initiatives aimed at enhancing governance, streamlining processes, and improving risk transparency across the organization.
- Stay informed on industry best practices and evolving risk management methodologies to support continuous improvement within the Business Unit Risk & Control function.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Risk Management, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in risk management, operational risk, controls, audit, compliance, corporate banking, investment banking, or a related financial services function.
- Foundational understanding of banking products, operational risk frameworks, and control management principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting or data visualization tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Familiarity with RCSA, control testing and issue management, a plus.
