About the Role

As an EHS Site Process Safety Engineer, you will support the Process Safety Management (PSM) strategy at the Brimsdown site, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies. You will lead risk assessments, investigate incidents, and provide expertise to enhance site-wide PSM capability.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of the Process Safety Management (PSM) strategy at the Brimsdown site.
  • Ensure compliance with COMAH regulations, local process safety legislation, and Johnson Matthey process safety policies and standards.
  • Lead and support process safety risk assessments, including HAZOP, bowtie development, LOPA, and management of change activities.
  • Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, providing clear analysis and practical recommendations.
  • Verify effective implementation of risk reduction and mitigation actions through audits and assurance activities.
  • Provide process safety expertise, guidance, and training to employees and contractors.

Requirements

  • A relevant engineering degree (chemical, mechanical, or EC&I) with experience in a process or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of process safety management systems and regulatory frameworks, ideally within a COMAH site.
  • Experience leading or facilitating process safety risk assessments and management of change processes.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues and present clear, practical recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging at all levels.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach with high attention to detail and a strong commitment to safe operations.
  • Applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months.
