About the Role
This role is for a progressive, cloud and automation-first technologist to join Apex’s Identity Services team. As an IAM System Engineer II, you will be responsible for improving and maintaining Apex’s suite of Identity Services systems, playing a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing services and infrastructure that support internal identity management, access controls, systems, and processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and oversight of Apex’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) toolchain.
- Improve administration, optimization, and support of the entire lifecycle (JML practices) of employee access, account provisioning, entitlements, and deprovisioning.
- Design, develop, and maintain scripts and interfaces to streamline IAM processes, including integration and management across tools such as Active Directory, Okta, and Workday.
- Automate and integrate identity-related processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to support, maintain, design, and build IAM solutions.
- Stay ahead of new and emerging technologies, such as generative AI, and identify opportunities to improve Apex’s IAM systems.
- Recommend new solutions and drive initiatives to evolve the technology landscape.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience).
- 4+ years of proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on Identity and Access Management solutions, SSO implementation and management.
- Experience administering and integrating with enterprise tools such as Okta, Active Directory, Google Workspace, M365.
- Experience with Windows and Linux administration in enterprise environments.
Skills
- Deep knowledge of Identity & Access Management technologies, including SSO, MFA, and privileged access management.
- Expertise with security/authorization models and protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC).
- Strong skills in Python and PowerShell for scripting and automation.
- Superior troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and their practical application in productivity.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to write clear documentation, procedures, and runbooks.
- Comfortable discussing technical concepts with engineers and vendors.
- Experience implementing, managing, and administering Softerra Adaxes.
