About the Role
This consulting position involves managing complex client engagements and contributing to the growth of the practice group in Canada, collaborating with a global team. The role requires effective delivery and proposal of valued services for clients and prospects, including insurance loss measurement, claims preparation, and forensic accounting assistance for financial investigations.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of financial damages and measures of lost profits to develop financial models for insurance or litigation contexts.
- Synthesize and analyze large data sets and complex business models across diverse industry sectors.
- Create work product that can be readily digested and scrutinized.
- Communicate complex analysis to clients, attorneys, and senior stakeholders.
- Lead and project manage engagements, participate in client discussions, and contribute to practice development.
- Develop deep industry expertise in key sectors such as Course of Construction, Mining, Energy, and Financial Services.
- Drive wider practice initiatives in technology adoption and operational efficiency.
- Travel as required.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or Economics.
- CPA, CBV, CFA, and/or CFE designation(s).
- 3 to 7 years familiarity with general accounting and finance terms and concepts, including financial statements.
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant professional experience in insurance claim quantification (specifically Business Interruption Losses), litigation support, and/or forensic accounting services.
- Exceptional project management skills to manage client expectations, identify roadblocks, and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills to address unique problems in major or complex insurance claims.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (including VBA).
- Skills in SQL or other database experience is a plus.
- Skills in visualization/analytics applications is a plus.
