About the Role

As an intern, you'll collaborate with full-time employees on real-world projects. This Cybersecurity Analyst internship in New York focuses on guarding the firm from cyber threats through investigations and incident response, building tools and automation, and enhancing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Investigate alerts, dig through activity chains, and hunt and respond to threats.
• Gain an understanding of a wide variety of log sources, systems, and tooling.
• Learn good development practices and solve real problems with code to improve detection and response capabilities.
• Act as an ambassador of best practices to the rest of the firm.
• Educate the firm about risk and best practices.

Requirements

• Currently majoring or planning to major in computer science or a similar field.
• Interested in cybersecurity and technology through activities such as CTFs, home labbing, and/or personal development projects.
• A strong programmer with high potential and an aptitude for learning.
• Interested in your tools, including your editor, computer environment, version control, etc.
• Familiar with threat modeling and able to clearly communicate understanding of trade-offs regarding security, risk, and usability.
• Able to explain cybersecurity decisions made in your own life and how those decisions were approached.
• Able to adapt to changing scenarios and make challenging decisions under pressure.
• Humble about knowledge and not afraid to ask questions or admit mistakes.
• A curious problem solver with a positive, collaborative attitude.
• Demonstrates perseverance and grit when investigating and learning new things beyond a surface-level understanding.
