About the Role
Expressive Beginnings Child Care is seeking a warm and caring preschool assistant teacher to work with children ages 3 through 5, facilitating learning through play in a fun and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement and supervise the program for the class consistent with the centers policies, philosophy and curriculum
- Keep the classroom in compliance with all NYS regulations
- Maintain required documentation
- Gear program to the needs of individual children in concern for their interests, special needs and talents and pace of learning
- Teach proper health care in regards to toileting, nutrition, dental, physical care and cleaning of the children if necessary
- Maintain the ordered arrangement, appearance, décor and learning environment of the classroom
- Communicate with parents regarding information concerning their child and their daily activities of the center and inform the director of any parent concerns
- Attend staff meetings, trainings and conferences
Requirements
- Demonstrate knowledge of NY state child care regulations
- Must be able to get on the floor and play and lift up to 45 pounds
- Must be a sensitive mature person who is able to relate well to both children and adults
- Willing to pursue education in early childhood

- Associates Degree in ECE, child development, or a related field or a CDA credential
- Experience working in a daycare program with a plan towards achieving an associate’s degree or a CDA credential
Salary/Compensations
- $17.82 / hr - $19.22 /hr
