About the Role
Discord is seeking a highly technical, creative, hands-on, and impact-focused Software Engineer to join the Ads team. This role involves revolutionizing user interaction through innovative ad formats like Quests, focusing on exceptional user experiences and platform scaling. The products aim to generate revenue by building a win-win-win suite of distribution tools for game developers, players, and Discord, shaping the future of digital advertising and marketplace interactions.
Responsibilities
- Build new ads products from backend to frontend that deliver direct value to users through rewards.
- Build a platform to enable advertisers and operations teams to manage ad campaigns.
- Make architectural improvements to enhance long-term maintenance of products and systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to create delightful products.
- Work with analytics and experimentation frameworks to optimize ads products.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest industry technologies.
Requirements
- Full-stack experience with hands-on experience with Typescript, React, Python or equivalents.
- Strive for excellence mentality, believing in solving problems completely with high attention to detail.
- Collaboration skills, with transparent updates and the ability to build strong relationships.
- A growth mindset, viewing mistakes as learning opportunities and challenging continuous improvement.
- 4+ years of experience working with similar technologies.
