About the Role

The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or Assistant General Manager, ensuring the team understands goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives, and guest connections during their shift.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates mastery of Team Member duties with ease, enthusiasm, and excellence.
  • Leads shifts focused on team engagement and guest satisfaction with a commitment to making fun happen.
  • Strategically maximizes product sales and waste management.
  • Demonstrates a "total store vision" to take ownership of the store's appearance.
  • Understands daily deployment, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Consistently leverages effective communication on the floor during shifts.
  • Identifies and addresses team and guest needs proactively.
  • Manages multiple shift priorities, effectively communicating and delegating tasks.
  • Takes ownership of the current shift and the subsequent shift.
  • Ensures the team consistently executes SOP and quality standards.
  • Coaches and provides real-time feedback to Team Members.
  • Trains team members on role responsibilities, product knowledge, and promotions.
  • Performs administrative tasks including bank deposits, inventory, and product orders.
  • Actively develops Team Members and engages in career growth conversations.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience, or properly trained and approved by Caribou Coffee.
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays, and/or weekends.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent (Preferred).
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (Preferred).
  • Ability to stand for 4 to 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
