About the Role

This position is responsible for serving guests' beverages with the strictest regard to rules, regulations, and outlet operational guidelines, while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment. The role may serve in various settings including restaurants, buffets, casino floors, bars, banquets, theatres, or in-room dining.

Responsibilities

  • Greets guests by name wherever possible
  • Informs guests of any daily specials
  • Explains how various beverages are prepared
  • Takes guest orders and makes recommendations
  • Prepares beverages
  • Serves guests and checks to ensure satisfaction
  • Resolves guest's issues or asks management for assistance
  • Presents bill upon request and takes payment in the absence of a cashier
  • Cleans tables or counters, removes glasses and re-stocks when applicable
  • Delivers beverages to hotel rooms as directed when applicable and obtains signature and removes used trays
  • Performs opening or closing duties as required
  • Counts cash float at end of shift (if applicable)
  • Covers other bartender sections when required
  • Exercises good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages according to SIR, Smart Serve or IGB
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards and liquor regulations
  • Maintain knowledge of beverage menus, promotions, and specialty cocktails
  • Verify guest age and comply with all responsible alcohol service requirements
  • Monitor guest consumption and handle alcohol service responsibly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, equipment, and storage spaces
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen, bar, and service team members to ensure seamless operations
  • Uphold company standards for hospitality, appearance, and professionalism

Requirements

  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
