About the Role

Powerback is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Journey Traveler program. This role offers the flexibility to travel nationwide for 13-week assignments, providing essential therapy services in various settings. You will organize and conduct occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation, directing patient participation in tasks to restore function and improve adaptation and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel.
  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of rehab services, adhering to the plan of care, schedules, and documentation requirements.
  • Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other meetings.
  • Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive patient needs.
  • Consult with the rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
  • Adapt programs and plans of care based on individual patient needs.
  • Promote a safe environment and eliminate fire and safety hazards.
  • Order necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Clean, maintain, identify, and report the need for repair of equipment.
  • Prioritize patient service, ensuring high-quality care in a compassionate environment.
  • Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and application of tests.
  • Synthesize information and interpret findings to establish a diagnosis and plan of care.
  • Develop treatment goals and methods in collaboration with patients and caregivers.
  • Implement the occupational therapy treatment plan and complete all related documentation.
  • Provide services including therapeutic techniques for cognitive skills, muscle strength, coordination, endurance, mobility, perceptual abilities, sensory awareness, sitting and standing tolerance, balance, activities of daily living, joint protection, work simplification, orientation, and physical agent modalities.
  • Design, fabricate, fit, and/or apply adaptive devices and train patients in their use.
  • Select appropriate activities based on individual capacity, intelligence, and interest.
  • Instruct patients in skills and techniques for functional activities and evaluate progress.
  • Perform routine reexaminations as needed to modify the treatment plan.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must be available to travel nationwide for 13-week assignments.
  • Must be available to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist's primary home.

Salary/Compensations

  • USD $55.00 - USD $70.00 /Hr.
