About the Role

Powerback is seeking a Physical Therapist to travel nationwide for 13-week assignments, providing flexibility to work in various settings. The role involves assessing, developing, and delivering physical therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation, implementing individualized therapy plans, and educating patients and caregivers. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults and children.

Responsibilities

  • Travel nationwide for 13-week assignments.
  • Assess, develop, and deliver physical therapy programs.
  • Implement individualized therapy programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on essential skills for independence and productivity.
  • Direct activities to promote and maintain health.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as needed.
  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of rehab services.
  • Adhere to established plans of care, department schedules, and document services promptly.
  • Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other meetings.
  • Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive patient needs.
  • Consult with the rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
  • Adapt programs and/or plans of care based on individual patient needs.
  • Promote a safe environment and eliminate fire and safety hazards.
  • Order necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Clean, maintain, identify, and report equipment repair needs.
  • Prioritize patient service, ensuring high-quality care in a compassionate environment.
  • Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and tests.
  • Synthesize information and interpret examination findings to establish diagnosis and plan of care.
  • Develop treatment goals and methods in collaboration with patients and caregivers.
  • Implement physical therapy treatment plans and complete all related documentation.
  • Provide therapeutic exercise, functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance techniques, integumentary repair, and use of modalities.
  • Design, fabricate, fit, and/or apply adaptive devices and train patients in their use.
  • Select appropriate activities based on patient capacity, intelligence, and interest.
  • Instruct patients in mobility skills and evaluate progress.
  • Perform routine reexaminations as needed to modify treatment plans.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility.
  • Must be available to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the primary home.
  • Qualifying Physical Therapy degrees earned outside of the U.S. must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.

Salary/Compensations

  • USD $55.00 - USD $70.00 /Hr.
