About the Role

This is a key role within the Business Development team, responsible for supporting practice and industry collaboration, growth, and client engagement, with a specific focus on the Financial Services sector. The individual will work closely with departmental colleagues and US partners to develop and execute the regional growth strategy, proactively supporting the growth of the US team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and successful delivery of the practice & sector strategy, collaborating across regions for global connectivity.
  • Work with practice and sector teams on business development activities to drive revenue growth.
  • Coach and support partner teams on market-facing initiatives, managing budgets and ROI.
  • Utilize market and client insights to identify opportunities and deepen client relationships.
  • Manage the entire opportunity pursuit process, including tracking and coordinating strategic pursuits.
  • Support major client opportunities, including bids, proposals, and credentials documents.
  • Design, develop, and implement integrated revenue-generating and profile-raising campaigns.
  • Support Partners in developing and executing client account plans for key US clients.
  • Coordinate with other account managers to ensure consistency and sharing of strategic information.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of industry clients and share that information internally.
  • Leverage firm-wide thought leadership to drive client engagement.
  • Analyze insights to identify trends and opportunities across the portfolio.
  • Support client listening sessions, analyze insights, and follow up on actions.
  • Support the curation and tracking of client development opportunities and target mapping.
  • Plan and deliver marketing events, sponsorship opportunities, and seminars.
  • Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Maintain relevant processes, systems, and materials, including collateral and transaction lists.
  • Work with the global PR team to maintain effective press coverage.
  • Support entries for US directories, league tables, and award submissions.
  • Share market knowledge and contribute to functional and firm-wide training programs.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a law firm business development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience of managing projects and / or initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trusting relationships with the partnership and business services.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple projects and activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively interact with peers and influence internal clients including senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to synthesize information to identify opportunities and solve complex problems.
  • Strategic thinker with strong focus on execution.
  • Collaborates and is highly effective at working as part of a team.
  • A tenacious, proactive approach to achieving results and a demonstrable track record of helping to successfully grow a business.
  • High attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and strong client focus.
  • Flexibility in work schedule as this role will require working beyond set hours from time-to-time.
  • Culturally astute with a strong ability to work effectively with colleagues from other countries on cross-border activities.
