About the Role

Expedia Group helps travelers explore the world through its consumer brands, B2B network, and travel advertising business. This role involves designing, implementing, and debugging software to create meaningful work that helps millions discover, book, and experience travel with more ease, confidence, and joy. The position drives technical direction for projects and contributes to platform architecture evolution.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and debug software including algorithms and data structures.
  • Translate requirements into code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging.
  • Ensure adherence to defined engineering processes and propose improvements.
  • Design, develop, debug, and modify components of software applications and tools.
  • Drive technical direction at the application/product level for small to mid-sized projects.
  • Design, spec, schedule, and provide quality implementation of components or features.
  • Provide alternative solutions to given problems.
  • Resolve problems and roadblocks with management assistance if required.
  • Follow through on details and drive issues to closure.
  • Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
  • Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique work of self and others.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the technical staff.
  • Collaborate with program management and testing peers in the development of assigned components.
  • Participate in and provide input to requirements definition.
  • Provide solid judgment calls and tradeoff analysis.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the platform architecture by working across engineering teams to support scalable platform capabilities and cross-platform integration.
  • Develop internal libraries and reusable components to support shared functionality across applications and teams.
  • Implement improvements to build systems and development workflows to reduce build times and improve engineering efficiency.

Requirements

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field followed by 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Mobile Engineer-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a Mobile Engineer-related occupation.
