About the Role

Okta is building the trusted, neutral infrastructure to enable organizations to safely embrace AI. This role involves taking product ideas from 0 to 1 and defining new AI product innovation, with significant independence and ownership. You will be the first AI/ML person on the Auth0Lab team, focusing on enabling builders and companies to ship production-grade AI agents by assisting with identity and security.

Responsibilities

Model and solve auth and security related problems using AI/ML, through deep understanding of the inner workings and customer challenges
Lead end-to-end model development, applying the right paradigm for the problem (e.g., training traditional ML models from scratch, or fine-tuning and aligning small/large language models)
Create and maintain evaluation and training datasets and workflows
Take ideas from research through prototype and product recommendation
Evaluate outcomes across quality, security, latency, and cost

Requirements

8+ years in ML / applied research roles
Led multiple 0 to 1 AI or ML projects and shipped practical ML or AI systems
Strong Python, ML frameworks, and software engineering skills
Ability to learn quickly
Understanding of computer workings and ability to apply this to solve hard problems
Ability to balance simplicity and flexibility
Talent to understand customer needs and iterate based on feedback, industry trends, and available technology
Ability to work in a team environment with good communication skills and understanding of collaboration value
Experience working on security related products (nice to have)
