About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing annual financial statements and tax returns for medium-sized corporations and partnerships. You will also handle financial accounting tasks, prepare business analyses, and maintain regular client contact to understand their needs and identify potential issues.
Responsibilities
- Prepare annual financial statements and tax returns for medium-sized corporations and partnerships.
- Handle financial accounting tasks, including vacation replacements and client engagement.
- Prepare business analyses that are understandable and relevant for client decision-making.
- Maintain regular contact with clients to understand their business and identify emerging issues.
- Research new or complex tax-related issues and coordinate with experienced colleagues and managers.
- Ensure deadlines, documents, and coordination efforts are managed effectively.
Requirements
- Completed training as a tax assistant, further training as a tax specialist, or a degree in taxation.
- Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in preparing annual financial statements and tax returns is ideal.
- Open to candidates with less experience but a strong willingness to learn and a conscientious work ethic.
- Structured and proactive work approach, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, clients, and inquiries simultaneously.
- Enthusiasm for researching new tax issues and understanding the underlying principles.
- Ability to communicate clearly, politely, and effectively with clients, including requesting documents and asking clarifying questions.
- Desire to take on responsibility within a supportive team environment.
- Commitment to building stability in client work and professional development over the next one to two years.
- Interest in potentially pursuing the tax advisor examination in the future is welcome but not the primary focus of this role.
