About the Role
The Forklift Operator is responsible for loading and unloading materials using a hand truck, reach truck, or forklift, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and identifying discrepancies in receiving loads against the manifest.
Responsibilities
- Utilize manifest to pull route, stage freight, and assist Drivers in loading and unloading trucks.
- Perform material handling tasks including picking, packing, scanning, kitting, and counting products accurately.
- Identify and annotate overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D).
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Read and follow detailed instructions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment, adhering to all TSA and OSHA guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to use forklifts, pallet jacks, and banding/shrink-wrap material.
- Experience using an RF scan gun is required.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed, including occasional weekends.
- Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions well.
- Must have the ability to work well with others with little supervision.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
- Requires employees to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands, reach, bend and lift objects above their head.
- Employees must be able to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds unassisted and use pallet jacks and forklifts.
