About the Role
A family of four in Brooklyn seeks a loving, energetic, and self-starting nanny/family assistant to care for their two young children (ages 5 and 3). This live-out position requires a creative individual who can encourage physical and artistic activities in a no-screen-time household. The role begins September 1st.
Responsibilities
- All responsibilities related to childcare
- Prepare healthy and nutritious meals for the children, and encourage them to try new foods
- Occasionally prepare parents' meals
- Collect children from school and help with homework or prepare lessons
- Take children to after-school activities and clubs
- Ensure children are reaching their developmental milestones; proactively bring new ideas to foster development and growth
- Offer positive reinforcement to help build resiliency
- Assist children with homework and new learning activities
- Encourage children to tidy up after themselves and do their chores
- Model good behavior and manners
- Organize the household
- Keep on top of finer details/light housekeeping
- Ensure the fridge, cupboards, and laundry room are stocked
- Assist with packing for family trips
- Help with online orders
- Take/pick up garments to the dry cleaners
- Keep in touch with the children's school and after-school clubs and activities to ensure no detail is missed
Requirements
- Legally able to work in the US
- Previous experience with this age group
- Flexibility
- Desire for longevity with a family
- Excellent organizational skills
- Comfortable with all forms of mass transit
- Ability to drive kids leveraging the family car
- Comfortable e-biking with kids riding on the back of the bike
