About the Role
This consulting position will be responsible for managing complex client engagements, assisting in growing the practice group in Canada, and collaborating with a larger global team. It requires effective delivery or proposal of valued services for clients and prospects, potentially involving insurance loss measurement, claims preparation, and forensic accounting assistance for financial investigations.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of financial damages and measures of lost profits to develop financial models for insurance or litigation contexts.
- Synthesize and analyze large data sets and complex business models across diverse industry sectors.
- Create work product that can be readily digested and scrutinized.
- Communicate complex analysis to clients, attorneys, and senior stakeholders.
- Lead and project manage engagements and client discussions.
- Contribute to the practice by driving superior results for clients.
- Develop deep industry expertise in key sectors like Course of Construction, Mining, Energy, and Financial Services.
- Help drive wider practice initiatives in technology adoption and operational efficiency.
- Travel as required.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics or Economics.
- CPA, CBV, CFA, and/or CFE designation(s).
- 3 to 7 years familiarity with general accounting and finance terms and concepts, income statements, profit and loss statements, and other financial documentation.
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant professional experience in insurance claim quantification (specifically with Business Interruption Losses), litigation support, and/or forensic accounting services.
- Exceptional project management skills to manage client expectations, identify roadblocks, and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills to address unique problems in major/complex insurance claims.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (including VBA).
- Skills in SQL or other database experience is a plus.
- Skills in visualization/analytics applications is a plus.
