About the Role
Nevada State University invites applications for the position of 1000 Hour Appointment – ASC Program Coordinator. This role will report to the Director of the Academic Success Center (ASC) and provide operation and program support for online and in-person peer-tutoring services, focusing on learning support, customer service, outreach, marketing, and student engagement.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates daily operations and quality assurance of tutoring support services.
- Manages student staff and faculty communication for academic support.
- Supports Center Staff in semester recruitment of tutors, coordinating the application, interview, and onboarding processes.
- Develops a strategic tutoring schedule considering demand, usage trends, and modalities.
- Coordinates with faculty on scheduling strategies and tutoring needs.
- Develops and facilitates tutor training.
- Participates in campus-wide peer support and center trainings.
- Conducts regular observations and semester evaluations of tutors, providing developmental feedback.
- Promotes tutoring services to faculty and students.
- Coordinates tutoring support services with academic faculty and other relevant offices.
- Coordinates access to course materials for tutoring sessions.
- Sends outreach emails and assists with scheduling and holding faculty meetings.
- Completes weekly and monthly tracking of tutoring services utilization and satisfaction.
- Coordinates the distribution, collection, and analysis of program surveys.
- Assists Center Staff in compiling and organizing student success data for reports and outcomes assessment.
- Updates and develops marketing materials for tutoring services.
- Manages and maintains social media platforms and website content.
- Develops or supports programming or initiatives related to the center mission, such as study skills workshops or retention interventions for specific student populations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- One (1) year of experience in higher education or a related professional role.
- Demonstrated commitment to a diverse, non-traditional, first-generation student population.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
