About the Role
The Developer Experience team provides mission-critical services to DRW's software engineering community. This dynamic role involves end-to-end service ownership, development through strategic projects, and dedicated support to internal customers. You will tackle build challenges, refine observability and alerting systems, and build great developer workflows, enabling all engineers at DRW to do their best work.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leaders, trading teams, and developers to act as a force multiplier for the engineering population.
- Work within a US & UK based team with product and technical ownership of services including source control, build artifact repositories, AI-powered development tools, and other software development and delivery tools.
- Participate in a scheduled support rotation during UK business hours to assist internal engineering teams with diagnosing complex CI workflows, managing central infrastructure in Kubernetes, and ensuring tools are fully leveraged.
- Investigate and resolve intricate systems or build issues during support rotations, building valuable relationships with other DRW development teams.
- Improve service reliability, performance, and observability of firm-wide critical infrastructure and tooling.
- Work in a hybrid infrastructure environment (cloud and on-prem) using infra-as-code patterns to reliably manage and scale services.
- Educate users on tools, conduct end-user demonstrations, and maintain high-quality self-service documentation.

- Problem-solving skills, comfortable handling tasks from low-level OS issues to architecting artifact storage solutions.

- Demonstrated experience with building high-quality solutions and owning them throughout their entire lifecycle.

- Previous experience building tools for measurably improving developer experience and productivity.
Skills
- Debugging and triaging complex systems
- Configuration management tooling (e.g., Terraform)
- Managing highly available Linux systems (on-prem and cloud)
- Supporting containerized applications (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, FluxCD, ArgoCD, Helm)
- Providing direct support to internal engineers with customer empathy
- Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Java)
