About the Role
Putnam Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a PRN/Per-Diem Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team. The OT will collaborate with staff and the interdisciplinary care team to enhance residents' daily living activities, strength, and independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide PRN (as-needed) rehabilitation services.
- Evaluate and treat geriatric patients with complex medical, cognitive, and functional needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, daily living skills, and overall functional independence.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, speech therapists, and physical therapists.
- Provide adaptive equipment training, fall prevention strategies, and patient/caregiver education.
- Deliver high-quality care across variable schedules and patient acuity levels.
Requirements
- Must possess a current license and registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in the State of NY.
- Must possess current malpractice insurance and a license in good standing.
- Dedicated to providing extraordinary compassionate care.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, committed, and passionate about quality care.
- Genuinely interested in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes challenging residents.
- Possess patience, a cheerful disposition, and willingness to assist residents and co-workers.

- Trusted to work independently and in a team environment.
- Able to work well under pressure, flexible, and work harmoniously with all staff.
- Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but not mandated.
