About the Role

This position ensures proper data entry into animal database software, collaborates with departments for compliance, and handles technical tasks. Accurate record-keeping is vital for communicating information to adopters, fosters, rescue groups, partners, and volunteers. The role primarily supports the Shelter Intake Team in medically screening, implementing preventative care, and processing incoming animals. It is a data-entry focused position with some opportunities for direct animal interaction.

Responsibilities

Entering all intake exam treatment data to medical records.
Assisting in reviewing and completing Quality Assurance Team flags.
Scheduling animals for upcoming surgeries, appointments, and exams.
Helps administer medications to patients.
Maintaining database for patient records, certificates, and waivers.
Completing all necessary paperwork for off-site transfers.
Assists in bottle feedings of newborn kittens housed in incubators.
Assist vet services team with general requests.
Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 1 year experience in a veterinary setting (receptionist, client care, administrative assistant) OR minimum 1 year in a clerical setting.
Able to lift at least 50lbs and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Fear Free Shelter certification is required within 30 days of hire.
