About the Role

As a Business Analyst, you will work across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and concept validation to delivery and post-launch analysis. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, data engineers, and QA testers to define requirements, improve workflows, and optimize outcomes. A strong understanding of healthcare-specific workflows and terminology is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit and document business, functional, and technical requirements from cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Create detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, User Stories, Use Cases, and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Define complex field-level rules, interdependencies, and validation logic.
  • Model current and future-state workflows using BPMN, flow diagrams, and swimlanes.
  • Conduct gap analysis between current platform capabilities and future product needs.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and opportunities for automation or improvement.
  • Align product workflows with evolving care models (e.g., virtual care, team-based care, chronic care management).
  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure mutual understanding of product goals.
  • Lead requirement walkthroughs and backlog grooming sessions with internal stakeholders.
  • Work with clinicians, operations leaders, and compliance officers to ensure regulatory and operational alignment.
  • Serve as the “voice of the user” during design, development, and testing phases.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to define reporting logic, KPIs, and data validation rules.
  • Help define API payload requirements, interface specifications, and system integration points.
  • Support FHIR, HL7, and EDI-based data exchange requirements at a conceptual or field-level mapping level.
  • Develop test scenarios, data sets, and expected outcomes based on requirements.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), identify issues, and validate solutions.
  • Help triage production issues by analyzing root causes and clarifying expected behavior.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the healthcare technology or digital health sector.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, or EDI.
  • Understanding of privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR-equivalent for data protection).
  • Exposure to working with EHRs, provider networks, or care coordination platforms.
  • Ability to work with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) or tools like Looker/Tableau for validation.
  • Experience working in fast-paced SaaS, product-led, or startup environments.
