About the Role
The Coordinator of Operations is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and coordination of assigned program operations to ensure high-quality services, regulatory compliance, and efficient functioning of sites. This position supports senior leadership by assisting with personnel management, quality assurance, physical plant oversight, and program performance, ensuring programs operate in accordance with agency policies, OPWDD regulations, and the organization’s mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Ensure health, safety, and well-being measures are maintained at the highest level across assigned sites.
- Oversee daily operations of assigned programs, guiding leadership and staff to deliver person-centered services.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor compliance with OPWDD, agency, and health and safety standards.
- Support staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing to ensure adequate coverage and quality care.
- Maintain accurate records for staff performance, training, and program compliance.
- Respond to routine program and operational issues, escalating complex matters as needed.
- Support the implementation of agency policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor facility maintenance, cleanliness, and safety standards, coordinating with Facilities to address issues.
- Assist with reviewing and monitoring budgets, staffing patterns, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in investigations, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the development and execution of individualized, person-centered plans.
- Serve as a liaison with families, advocates, and external providers.
- Participate in agency and program meetings, committees, and work groups.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, staff development, and program effectiveness.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or program coordination experience, preferably within the developmental disabilities field.
- Strong understanding of OPWDD regulations and person-centered service delivery.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic record systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License is preferred.
- Ability to travel to multiple program locations and administrative offices, as needed.
