About the Role
The PC Support / Helpdesk Technician will work with IT staff to support company applications, hardware, and peripherals. This role involves troubleshooting computer problems, determining issue sources, providing advice, and assisting with appropriate actions. The technician will also contribute to research and projects supporting company goals.
Responsibilities
- Answer staff questions in person and via phone on all company supported applications.
- Install hardware and software on Windows computers.
- Perform basic hardware repairs and coordinate warranty service.
- Support computer and IT equipment inventory management, including repair/service tracking and reporting.
- Perform basic wired and wireless network troubleshooting.
- Conduct PC imaging and deployment.
- Set up laptops, docking stations, monitors, and other end-user devices.
- Troubleshoot computer problems.
- Work one-on-one with staff on IT projects.
- Provide recommendations on company technology purchases.
- Document resolutions for future reference.
- Collaborate with other technical staff to ensure system connectivity and compatibility.
- Perform occasional evening/weekend work.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree and one to three years of applicable experience.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and a self-starter.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift 30lbs.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- A valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Ability to drive to offices and travel to remote locations for support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to simplify technical language into easy-to-understand phrasing.
- Patience and empathy when helping users.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
