About the Role

Seeking a Robotics Coach to support co-curricular programming for Branksome Hall students, working closely with faculty to develop robotic skill sets. The coach will mentor students and attend competitions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with faculty to develop curriculum, lessons, and projects for the co-curricular robotics program
  • Design or administer course materials such as tutorials to enable successful student projects
  • Instruct team members in the effective use of computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Creates and maintains a CAD library of parts commonly used in designs for the co-curricular program
  • Trains and monitors students on the safe and proper use of tools in the workshop
  • Oversees and collaborates on the purchase of parts, hardware equipment for the robotics lab
  • Maintains and upgrades equipment in the workshop to continuously improve safety and efficiency
  • Organizes equipment and inventories for the Upper School Robotics team
  • Travels with teams to competitions directs students in the maintenance and repair of the robot

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professionally trained in Fusion 360 or similar CAD software
  • Experienced and trained in the use of milling machines, lathes, CNC machines, and other metal fabrication equipment is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience programming microcontrollers, and interfacing with sensors is strongly preferred
  • Practical understanding of electronics with the ability to assemble and troubleshoot simple Circuits
  • Communicates effectively, verbally, and in writing
  • Has extensive knowledge and proficiency with VEX Robotics
  • Possesses excellent computer skills
  • Has good interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with staff, students, and the Branksome Hall community
  • Demonstrates good collaboration skills and works well with others
  • Has excellent attention to detail
