About the Role
Longhorn Village is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for its assisted living facility. This role involves providing direct nursing care, administering medications, and supervising nursing assistants, while maintaining a positive and supportive environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care to residents in a 24-hour operation.
- Delegates and supervises care provided by nursing assistants.
- Administers medications, performs treatments and procedures, and obtains specimens.
- Completes documentation as required.
- Exercises independent judgment and discretion in assisting with the daily operation of the nursing department.
- Provides daily supervision to assigned staff.
- Assesses residents regularly for nursing needs and completes required record keeping.
- Assists residents with Activities of Daily Life and social activities.
- Promotes the independent life-style of residents.
- Responds to residents' call system promptly and courteously.
Requirements
- State of Texas license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- Ability to evaluate and make decisions in emergency situations.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, governmental agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Ability to push a minimum of 200 lbs for a minimum distance of 200 ft.
