About the Role

A QA Analyst assists the QA HACCP Coordinator & Analyst in maintaining the facility’s HACCP, prerequisite, and BRC programs. This includes analytical testing, data management, environmental & product sampling, and associate training. The role may also involve onsite and record verifications, facility audits, and other projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform water activity analysis
  • Conduct environmental sampling (swabs)
  • Perform water sampling
  • Conduct sanitation chemical testing
  • Perform micro sampling (in process, staph, shelf life)
  • Conduct analytical sampling and analysis (chemical lean)
  • Perform allergen sampling (finished product, spices, swabs)
  • Manage instrument calibration (scales, thermometers)
  • Provide QA coverage and support to afternoon operations
  • Serve as the point of contact for afternoon regulatory inspections
  • Complete CoCs (chain of custody) documents for sample testing
  • Maintain records of monitoring and verification documents
  • Train associates (production, supervision, maintenance, engineering, etc.)
  • Verify ingredients as part of the supplier verification program and release ingredients for production
  • Enter test results into electronic spreadsheets

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of HACCP principles and government regulations in meat processing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for creating spreadsheets, reports, and letters of response
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and work independently
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) for training, interaction, presentations, and audits
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with all functional groups, including senior management
  • Knowledge of manufacturing practices

Salary/Compensations

  • CAD $51,158 - $63,948
  • Eligible for a bonus up to 5% of base salary
