About the Role
Creature Comforts is seeking a passionate and success-driven Operations/Practice Manager to lead their team and manage a high-volume pet care facility. This leadership role involves staff coaching, team building, and meeting business metrics in a dynamic environment that includes grooming, boarding, training, and communal playtime. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all day-to-day operations, client satisfaction, staff management, and fiscal accountability.
Responsibilities
- Manage employee hiring, firing, coaching, performance monitoring, and team building.
- Oversee scheduling and ensure proper staff coverage while managing payroll costs.
- Manage all facility operations including boarding, daycare, grooming, training, and add-on services.
- Ensure the safety of dogs, staff, and clients.
- Consistently meet and exceed established high-quality customer service standards.
- Handle customer complaints to ensure positive outcomes.
- Maintain high cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Address maintenance needs and monitor supply inventories.
- Assist with day-to-day accounting functions, focusing on client account review.
- Generate payroll reports and process payroll.
- Reconcile daily deposits and manage software.
- Participate in direct animal care when needed, including administering medication, feeding, walking dogs, and cleaning.
- Be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Maintain open availability for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.
- Be on your feet for 8+ hours a day.
- Be able to lift 50+ lbs.
- Be able and willing to walk dogs that weigh 90+ pounds or two dogs at the same time.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Manager or Operations Manager position.
- Experience managing a team of at least 5 people.
- Strong track record of successful staff management, including hiring, firing, training, and support.
- Strong track record of customer service and client satisfaction.
- Pet care facility experience is highly preferred.
- Professional references will be requested.
