About the Role
Seeking a non-exempt Full-Time House Person to join the Housekeeping Department. This role is responsible for maximizing guest experiences by cleaning and maintaining assigned public spaces, health club, guestrooms, and office areas throughout the hotel.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper levels of linens on all floors
- Clean assigned work areas, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, straightening furniture, and emptying trashcans
- Replace trash can liners
- Clean designated restrooms
- Assist Room Attendants on the floor
- Clean guestrooms during overnight shifts as needed
- Inspect all equipment and report any problems to management
- Follow up to ensure correction of problems
- Interact courteously and professionally with guests and hotel staff
- Comply with and follow directions to ensure guest and staff satisfaction
- Attend to guests' requests and/or issues
- Respond to all guest requests appropriately
- Greet guests warmly with a smile and call them by name when known
- Work with Management on special projects
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Fluent in verbal and written English
- Ability to operate a vacuum cleaner and other equipment
- Ability to shampoo carpets and strip and wax floors as assigned
- Knowledge and ability to clean and arrange guest rooms in accordance with hotel standards
- Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, overnight, and holidays
- Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift
- Requires repetitive motion
