About the Role

Performs phlebotomy procedures and processes specimens safely and accurately. Delivers age-appropriate patient care and interacts professionally with patients and staff. Monitors patients for reactions and responds to emergencies. Provides feedback and collaborates with staff for efficient sample collection and transport. Assesses patient needs and collects samples appropriately. Performs Lab Aid, receptionist, clerical, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Performs phlebotomy procedures and processes specimens.
  • Delivers patient care appropriate to patient age, physical ability, and intellectual development.
  • Interacts with patients, volunteers, and coworkers pleasantly, efficiently, and cooperatively.
  • Monitors patients for unexpected reactions and responds to emergency situations.
  • Provides and receives constructive feedback from laboratory leadership.
  • Works collaboratively with laboratory and hospital staff for efficient sample collection and transport.
  • Assesses patient's age specific needs and appropriately collects samples.
  • Performs Lab Aid, receptionist, clerical, and administrative assistant duties.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent with some knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Enthusiastic personality with excellent customer service and people skills.
  • Data entry and typing skills required.
  • Up to 6 months of directly related experience for data entry proficiency.
  • Up to 6 months on-the-job experience for proficiency.
