About the Role

Group Leaders are dynamic youth workers committed to delivering high-quality, academically aligned arts, performance arts, sports, and/or STEM instruction to elementary, middle, or high school youth within a positive youth development and social-emotional literacy framework. This role involves assisting Activity Specialists and/or Teaching Artists in program delivery, ensuring participant safety, facilitating groups, following lesson plans, and adhering to administrative procedures.

Responsibilities

Supervise and engage program participants to foster positive youth development.
Prepare materials and space for various age-appropriate activities.
Assist with planning, development, and implementation of various activities and events.
Support effective classroom management and contribute to a positive environment by being adaptable, modeling positive behavior, promoting teamwork, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Attend staff meetings, professional development opportunities, training sessions, and special events to enhance knowledge and skills, as required, inclusive of those outside program hours.

Requirements

High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience working with children and/or youth in a professional setting.
Strong ability to form and maintain positive, professional relationships with children, youth, families, and other stakeholders.
Responsible, organized, and demonstrate positive communication skills.
Able to set an example in all areas, including timeliness, attendance, and professionalism.
Ability to relate to officials, staff, and the public in a courteous manner.
Pre-employment screening is required, including criminal history checks.
