About the Role
This role will focus on enabling high-performing data engineering teams, ensuring predictable delivery, and removing impediments across complex, cloud-based data initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Scrum Master for one or more data engineering teams delivering a GCP-based Data Lake/Lakehouse
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives) with a strong outcome focus
- Partner with Product Owners to manage and refine the backlog, ensuring clear priorities and well-defined user stories
- Remove delivery impediments related to cloud infrastructure, data dependencies, security, and cross-team alignment
- Track and report delivery metrics (velocity, burndown, risks, dependencies) to stakeholders
- Drive Agile best practices and continuous improvement across distributed/onshore-offshore teams
- Coordinate with architects, data engineers, DevOps, and platform teams to enable smooth end-to-end delivery
- Support release planning and milestone tracking for enterprise-scale data programs
- Provides product ownership for a complex product through the full product lifecycle
- Provides input to the shaping and definition of the end product portfolio and gives guidance to the direction of end products
- Identifies opportunities, promotes and grows the value that Capgemini brings to the client
- Responsible for the delivery of product ownership services to the client
Requirements
- Strong experience supporting data engineering, analytics, or cloud platform projects
- Hands-on experience working with cloud technologies (preferably GCP) and data platforms
- Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum frameworks and scaled Agile environments
- Product Owners balance business strategy, user needs and development
- Capgemini Product Owners often operate in a proxy role for the client
- Communicate a compelling product vision and roadmap
- Create and continually refine a backlog and help the team prioritise work that delivers the most value
- Continuously explore, innovate and experiment to bring new ideas to the product
- Motivate the team to release, inspect and adapt a constant flow of features, ensuring that the product remains usable, valuable and feasible
