About the Role

AMC Global Media is seeking a NOC Operator to join their Media Operations & Engineering team in Bethpage, NY. The role involves monitoring broadcast signals, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring transmission quality for various channels and services.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all channels distributed from AMCN B&T to ensure signal quality, local commercial insertion triggers, and Nielsen SID distribution.
• Log into and check the alarm status, bandwidth, temperature, and filter status of over seventy-five signal encoders, troubleshooting issues as necessary.
• Perform system checks, including routing mirror and disaster recovery systems, checking satellite receivers, confirming Mediaproxy recording, verifying encrypted messages, and reviewing Crystal Monitoring & Control.
• Schedule downlink requests as needed.
• Program and operate live blackouts and service replacements.
• Monitor the Affiliate Hotline to address affiliate engineering calls and troubleshoot issues.
• Walk the Encoding Hub each shift to check encoder alarm status.
• Make high-leverage decisions without supervisor support.
• Assist in training newer operators.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in Transmission or a related discipline.
• Strong customer service, communication, and troubleshooting skills required.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple concurrent issues under high-pressure situations with accuracy required.
• Ability to work closely with peers and operations and engineering teams.
• Ability to function in a 24/7 operational environment and work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
