About the Role
As a Senior System Engineer in Application Management, you will be responsible for the stable operation of business-critical applications, analyzing complex requirements, and developing solutions for sustainable operational optimization.
Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the stable operation and further development of business-critical applications on Windows and/or Linux servers.
- You support applications within the scope of our service contracts, including monitoring, logging (e.g., with Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios), and adherence to agreed SLAs.
- You coordinate and improve processes in test, change, and release management.
- You analyze complex disruptions, develop sustainable solutions, and document them systematically.
- You automate operational tasks with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
- You actively contribute your experience with databases, web servers, load balancers, and container technologies to customer projects.
- You bring experience in planning, implementation, and operation of IT-SM and collaboration solutions (e.g., NextCloud, ServiceNow, Open Desk, etc.) and take over their technical further development in complex environments; optionally, you support complementary tools such as CheckMK, OpenStatus, or Wazuh for monitoring, status communication, or security analyses.
Requirements
- You have many years of experience in the support and further development of applications on Linux or Windows servers, ideally in a project environment and with knowledge from IT projects for public clients.
- You have well-founded knowledge in handling databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB), web servers (e.g., IIS, Apache, Node.js), and load balancers (e.g., NGINX, F5, HAProxy).
- You use scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash to automate recurring tasks or create quick solutions.
- You have an ITIL certificate and actively use the principles in the setup and operation of service levels (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
- You have a confident demeanor in exchanges with various stakeholders.
- You have very good German language skills, both written and spoken.
