About the Role
The Digital Career Institute (DCI) is a leading provider of digital further education in Germany, helping individuals transition into new careers by connecting education, the job market, and companies.
Responsibilities
- Teach the fundamentals of Data Engineering to beginners using Python, SQL, and ETL workflows.
- Support participants with practical exercises and real-world data projects.
- Collaborate closely with learning and career teams to ensure an engaging and practical training experience.
- Optionally contribute to curriculum development and content improvement based on market trends.
- Assist participants in preparing for job searches and transitioning into their new tech roles.
- Optionally help update teaching materials and resources for future cohorts.
Requirements
- Completed degree or solid vocational training in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Data Analysis, or Backend Development.
- Proficient knowledge and application of Python and SQL.
- Demonstrated expertise in data wrangling, ideally with Pandas/NumPy.
- Practical experience with ETL concepts, data modeling, and working with various databases.
- Strong communication skills and passion for conveying complex topics clearly and practically.
- German language skills at B2 level or higher (very good English skills are also welcome).
- Optional: Experience in teaching, mentoring, or curriculum development.
