About the Role
This role is responsible for the general ledger accounting of several companies within the group, including the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the general ledger accounting of several companies within the group.
- Independent preparation of monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB.
- Independent booking and monitoring of general ledger transactions, including deferrals, provisions, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Control and reconciliation of sub-ledgers (accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets) managed by separate teams.
- Responsible for the timely provision of the monthly closing for Group Accounting and Controlling.
- Close, proactive collaboration with the tax team and controlling to ensure the quality and consistency of financial data.
- Contact person for auditors and internal/external stakeholders regarding general ledger accounting and financial statements.
- Deputize for the team lead and support the team with technical and organizational issues.
Requirements
- Completed commercial apprenticeship with further training as a certified accountant (IHK) or a business administration degree with a focus on accounting/finance.
- Several years of professional experience in general ledger accounting, ideally in a medium-sized or international environment.
- Sound knowledge of accounting according to HGB.
- Experience in preparing audited HGB financial statements.
- Confident interaction with auditors.
- Independent, structured, and conscientious way of working.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- High sense of responsibility and adherence to deadlines.
