About the Role

LTC is seeking contract interpreters in New York City who are fluent in English and Mandarin. This role involves providing on-site interpretation services on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site, in-person interpretation.
• Act as a liaison using the client’s preferred language.
• Accurately interpret appropriate to the setting and audience.
• Comply with all state, local, and federal laws and regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality of medical information, including HIPAA.

Requirements

• Must live within commuting distance of Nashville, TN.
• Function as an independent contractor, providing language interpretation services on an IRS Form 1099 basis.

Skills

• Fluent in English and Mandarin.
• Experience working as an interpreter.
• Experience in a variety of settings, including legal.
• Experience with simultaneous interpreting.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
