About the Role
RSM is seeking an Unclaimed Property Supervisor to join its State & Local Tax practice. This role involves assisting clients with various unclaimed property matters, including risk assessment, voluntary disclosures, compliance, and audit defense.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with unclaimed property matters, including reviewing client records to identify risk, quantifying exposure, and negotiating voluntary disclosure agreements.
- Provide annual compliance, due diligence reviews, planning, and other consulting services.
- Conduct unclaimed property audit defense and mitigation engagements, including reviewing assessments, managing document requests, and representing clients in meetings.
- Research, prepare, and review technical memoranda and client deliverables related to unclaimed property requirements.
Requirements
- Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
- Requires a minimum of four (4) years of current or recent unclaimed property experience, including process reviews, exposure analysis, voluntary disclosure agreements, and/or audit defense.
- Comprehensive technical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity researching state and local tax and unclaimed property laws and regulations.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Position may require some travel.
