About the Role

Sonos is seeking a Software Product Manager to drive a focused area of the Sonos software platform or user experience. This role is ideal for a Product Manager with a few years of experience ready to take on more ownership, comfortable managing a defined problem space, collaborating with engineering and design, and expanding their strategic and technical skills with senior team support.

Responsibilities

  • Own execution for a defined product area, managing the day-to-day roadmap, backlog, and delivery for specific features or workflows.
  • Translate direction from senior PMs or leads into clear specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering and design.
  • Represent the customer by using research, data, and direct feedback to inform decisions and advocate for a simple, reliable experience.
  • Ensure quality by testing edge cases, identifying gaps, and verifying that features function as expected.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams, building trust through clarity and follow-through.
  • Communicate status updates, organized documentation, and thoughtful trade-off analyses to stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic thinking by working with senior PMs on strategy, prioritization, and roadmap trade-offs, with opportunities for increased ownership.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance daily PM tasks such as research synthesis, spec drafting, and data analysis, maintaining a curious and experimental approach.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of Product Management experience, with exposure to technical, platform, or systems-oriented products in a consumer software or connected-hardware environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to ship features or improvements with attention to quality and customer experience.
  • Growing technical fluency, comfortable discussing technical concepts with engineers and eager to deepen understanding.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to break down problems into actionable plans.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including writing specifications and status updates.
  • Practical, hands-on experience using AI tools in daily PM work (e.g., research synthesis, spec drafting, data analysis), with enthusiasm for learning more.
  • Comfort working in a lean team environment that values prioritization and resourcefulness.
  • Collaborative, low-ego approach, receptive to feedback and eager to learn from senior teammates.
  • Exposure to platform, ecosystem, or infrastructure-adjacent product work (APIs, developer platforms, multi-device or connected systems) is preferred.
  • Interest or experience in audio, smart home, IoT, or other connected-hardware categories is preferred.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools or workflows to support product development is preferred.
