About the Role
As a Runner at Soho House, you will be responsible for preparing tables, serving orders, explaining meals, and facilitating collaboration between kitchen and servers. You will assist servers in providing high-quality service to guests, aiming to deliver outstanding customer service and enhance their dining experience. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can problem-solve under pressure, and remains calm, approachable, and professional.
Responsibilities
- Refill water glasses and coffee cups, clear finished dishes, crumb the table, replenish all table supplies, and expedite food orders.
- Accommodate special requests from guests or provide alternative solutions that better suit business needs, or advise management for further assessment.
- Ensure the delivery of seamless service by thinking quickly on your feet, managing and anticipating guest and member needs, and supporting servers, the Executive Chef, and the General Manager.
- Ensure food orders are plated correctly and coursed out before serving to members/guests.
- Adhere to health and safety policies, including allergy procedures, and all company processes, procedures, standards, and applicable laws.
- Work as a team to serve members and guests their food and/or drink items in a timely manner and support the team by running items from expo and service bar outside of your section.
- Clean and stock the server alley and expo area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the menu and make suggestions when asked by members and/or guests.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar capacity.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and maintain composure through effective problem-solving under pressure.
- Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service, and respectful towards colleagues and guests.
- Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to take direction, work in a team environment, and autonomously.
- Tips certified and POS knowledge.
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Fast-paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
- Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
