About the Role

The Investment Fund Finance Portfolio Manager manages the underwriting and credit approval process, along with the ongoing administration of fund finance transactions, emphasizing high credit standards and exceptional client experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage underwriting and due diligence framework for counterparties and collateral.
  • Conduct credit due diligence for transactions, periodic credit reviews, and counterparty/collateral review and analysis.
  • Collaborate with the credit risk team to define rating guidelines and credit limits.
  • Provide underwriting analysis for credit extensions to new and existing clients.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis on fund finance transactions, including subscription lines of credit, fund of hedge funds lending, fund of private equity funds lending, and NAV based finance.
  • Contribute to key credit and structural terms for legal agreements.
  • Prepare Credit Approval Requests (CARs), modifications, covenant waivers/amendments, and periodic reviews for senior management approval.
  • Manage and monitor assigned portfolios for loan performance, risk rating, financial reporting, covenant compliance, payment delinquencies, and overdrafts.
  • Ensure compliance with bank credit policies and procedures, identifying and seeking approval for exceptions.
  • Oversee the accurate internal system setup of credit facilities consistent with loan document requirements.
  • Approve loan advances for revolvers based on borrowing base information and covenant checks.
  • Assist in developing Fund Finance specific review processes, including scope, framework, and frequency.
  • Prepare periodic financial reviews as required.
  • Ensure timely receipt and circulation of required financial reporting and covenant compliance documentation.
  • Accompany relationship managers on prospect/client calls when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the risk and regulatory reporting team to create risk reports for senior management, the board, and external parties.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of credit analysis and underwriting experience.
  • Completion of a bank commercial credit training program.
  • Experience analyzing alternative investment fund finance transactions strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of fund finance transactions.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and complete assignments in a timely manner with minimal direction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Proficient in various spreadsheet and word processing applications, including the use of graphs and charts.
