About the Role

Performs basic nursing skills and assists physicians and registered nursing staff. Prepares patients for visits, assists with exams and procedures, and educates patients on follow-up care.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms, obtaining initial information and vital signs.
• Prepares exam rooms for patients, ensuring cleanliness and supply availability.
• Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts.
• Assists the provider during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients on follow-up expectations.
• Maintains quality control testing logs.
• Ensures medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assists patients with completing medical documentation.
• Performs office administrative tasks, including answering phones, taking messages, copying, printing, data entry, and assisting with closing duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program OR one (1) year of experience in a clinical setting.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• One (1) year of healthcare experience.

• Ability to use and care for all equipment including printers, embossers, and computers.
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients.

• Ability to work in both an independent and team setting.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
