About the Role
This associate role specializes in U.S. Real Estate asset management, reporting to the Head of Asset Management for U.S. Real Estate and collaborating with team members on portfolio management. The role is an opportunity to join a fast-growing team and partner in the expansion of a priority business line.
Responsibilities
- Understand and take ownership of assets/positions, markets, and business plans for each investment.
- Monitor positions, review borrower/partner reporting, and flag key issues.
- Serve as the key point of contact for operating partners/borrowers/service providers for day-to-day asset management.
- Participate in standing calls with partners/borrowers for each investment/position.
- Perform ad hoc analysis for key asset management decisions.
- Drive and coordinate internal operations processes, including cash management, distributions, contributions, draw review, and document negotiation/execution.
- Drive quarterly firmwide processes such as Valuation Committee and Portfolio Review.
- Assist with setting up key asset management processes for new investments/originations.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of proven experience originating/investing in and/or asset managing commercial real estate equity (and/or credit) positions across a variety of asset classes.
- Experience in multiple geographies and across the capital stack is a plus.
- Ability to perform analysis, frame complex scenarios, and provide clear recommendations.
- Strong proficiencies in Excel and Argus.
- Outstanding initiative and comfort being a self-starter.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in a high-volume environment.
- Strong sense of urgency; ability to execute quickly and efficiently with strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Structured problem solver able to synthesize sophisticated information into implementable recommendations and solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
- Strong prioritization and project management skills.
- Comfort working in a high growth, iterative environment.
