About the Role
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial information across the organization. You will be responsible for maintaining various accounting activities, including financial reporting, analysis, and compliance with regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to support decision-making processes, drive operational efficiency, and maintain financial stability. This position will also ensure data integrity across systems by reconciling data between accounting software and data models used for reporting and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accounting entries monthly ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide accounting information to support internal stakeholders in making business decisions.
- Support external audits providing documentation and explanations as needed to auditors.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial accounting/reporting, with at least 3 years in the upstream oil and gas industry.
- CPA certification a plus.
