About the Role
The Senior Account Manager is responsible for effectively managing and delivering complex projects, ensuring optimal creative solutions and profitability for a client portfolio. This role focuses on growing accounts, fostering strong client partnerships, and inspiring the Account Management team.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects totaling approximately £1 - £2.5 million per annum, overseeing allocation, planning, forecasting, and proactive problem-solving.
- Grow accounts beyond their initial scope by making proactive recommendations.
- Serve as the key client contact, owning the relationship throughout projects and for ongoing opportunities.
- Write proposals for larger projects, seeking guidance as needed.
- Develop senior client relationships, understanding both personal and Studio perspectives.
- Manage day-to-day and long-term career growth plans for team members, providing feedback and support.
- Act as the client escalation point for larger projects, identifying when further escalation is required.
- Forecast Studio workflow for upcoming quarters and flag significant changes.
- Bridge the gap between Client Services and Design teams by nurturing collaboration.
- Organize the team, balancing project needs and inspiring individual output.
- Provide solutions for people requirements on other projects, supporting team members.
- Advise Account Managers on best practices to meet internal and external expectations.
- Contribute to and potentially lead the implementation of improved team processes.
- Support the implementation of new business processes as required.
- Approve and ensure accuracy of proposals written by Junior Account Managers.
- Step up to cover Account Director responsibilities in their absence.
- Lead, manage, and inspire a team of Account Managers to ensure excellent service quality.
- Ensure team members meet expectations, working with Account Director and HR to improve performance.
- Help create a positive, collaborative, and supportive environment focused on continuous learning.
Requirements
- Approximately 4 years of experience managing large-scale accounts.
- A rich portfolio of client relationships across multiple sectors, with proven experience in nurturing and growing them.
- Ability to work seamlessly with others, lead by example, and contribute where needed.
- Demonstrable experience in developing and motivating teams, supporting individuals to reach their potential.
- Ability to balance the big picture with detail, think ahead, and prioritize workload for self and team.
- Strong problem-solving skills with diplomacy and charm, considering outcomes for both client and agency.
- Confidence in presenting work alongside team members.
- Ability to identify and manage additional revenue opportunities.
- Ability to build trust within teams and inspire others.
