About the Role

Formentera Operations is seeking an experienced accounting analyst to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of oil and gas properties. This role involves maintaining accounting activities, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounting entries on a monthly basis ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and analyze reconciliations and rollforwards.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide accounting information to support internal stakeholders in making business decisions.
• Support external audits providing documentation and explanations as needed to auditors.
• Assist on special projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• CPA certification a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial accounting/reporting, with at least 3 years in the upstream oil and gas industry.
• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate findings effectively.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and lead initiatives.
