About the Role
The Investment Banking Analyst I performs complex financial analysis, financial modeling, and transaction due diligence to support underwriting, execution, and idea generation. This role provides high-quality work products to support deal teams' calling efforts.
Responsibilities
- Successfully complete training program and obtain SIE, Series 79, and Series 63 licenses within policy guidelines.
- Develop accounting, corporate finance, credit, and capital markets concepts to support transactions.
- Build financial models to analyze performance and credit trends.
- Perform initial transaction due diligence, including credit research, comparable debt, and ratings analysis.
- Conduct accounting, business, and legal due diligence for new and existing clients.
- Exhibit strong financial analysis skills, specifically credit-based and corporate finance expertise.
- Find, research, and assess financial information.
- Prepare pitch materials and market updates for client meetings.
- Synthesize large amounts of information to help senior deal team members develop client solutions.
- Prepare and distribute market commentary, economic updates, and pricing information to external clients and internal departments.
- Develop proficiency in third-party platforms used by the business.
- Assist with database maintenance.
- Manage multiple, competing priorities while working on multiple high-priority opportunities simultaneously with oversight.
- Communicate effectively with deal team members on project status and prioritization.
- Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to new tasks or shifts in priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated academic or professional exposure to financial analysis and corporate finance concepts.
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79, and Series 63 licenses.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
- Graduating Class of 2027
- GPA 3.3 or higher
- Experience or demonstrated interest in Corporate & Investment Banking, Leveraged Finance, and/or Capital Markets is a plus.
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79, 63 license (to be obtained immediately after start date).
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
- Ability to multi-task, while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment.
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good team interaction capabilities.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit.
- Relevant internships and co-op program experience.

- Financial Modeling: Ability to build and interpret complex financial models.
- Due Diligence: Experience conducting credit, accounting, and legal due diligence.
- Market Research: Skilled in sourcing and synthesizing market data, economic trends, and comparable transactions.
- Client Communication: Ability to prepare compelling pitch materials and market updates.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with third-party financial platforms and databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ).
