About the Role

This is a software developer role on the Shared Engineering team, focused on enhancing developer experience and platform software. The team builds and maintains the foundational systems that support the firm's engineering operations, including alerting, job scheduling, host monitoring, and internal developer tooling for the monorepo. The role involves creating tools, services, and libraries to accelerate and improve the reliability of engineering processes, with a growing emphasis on the adoption of AI and coding-assistant tooling.

Responsibilities

Build and own platform services and internal tooling end-to-end, primarily using Go.
Improve developer experience by reducing friction in the build/CI/CD path and strengthening shared libraries.
Shape the firm's adoption of AI/coding-assistant tooling, integrating it into workflows and building guardrails.
Collaborate with network and Linux engineers to understand infrastructure needs for scaling and management, exposing them through software.
Mentor and share knowledge to improve teammates' skills and ensure system maintainability.
Review code and make pragmatic judgments to maintain high standards.
Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot production issues across various technical domains.

Requirements

Strong software-engineering fundamentals and production experience owning services end-to-end.
Comfortable on Linux, with an understanding of OS fundamentals (processes, networking, packaging, systemd).
Solid grasp of build systems, CI/CD, and release pipelines, with experience improving monorepo or build/release setups.
Proven track record of delivering projects.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative instinct to work effectively with non-developer engineers.
