About the Role
As an Academic Events Manager, you will own the end-to-end execution of a high-volume events program to increase Base44's presence among students, builders, and communities across the United States. You will leverage your expertise in event coordination and field operations to deliver measurable results and build Base44's presence at hackathons, on local campuses, at conferences, in faculty circles, and in partnership with educational nonprofits. You thrive in an ownership role, planning and executing world-class experiences both in-person and remotely.
Responsibilities
- Book and manage weekly events per quarter across universities, VC accelerators, NGOs, and community spaces across the US.
- Own all logistical details, from agenda setting to merch and content creation.
- Use AI tools to streamline coordination and maximize event efficiency.
- Be on the ground at events, ensuring smooth execution and troubleshooting in real time.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, community, and enterprise teams to align on event goals and ensure strong partner handoffs.
- Build and maintain relationships with university partners, event hosts, and community organizers.
- Track event performance and provide detailed reports on results and impact.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in events, field marketing, or a related role.
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of activities, building from 0 to 1.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly autonomous environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for being in the room and on the road.
- Willing and able to travel 25% of the time, including occasional weekends.
- Based in the NYC area and able to visit the NYC office 3x per week.
